On Our Backs was a lesbian erotica magazine published from 1984 to 2006 that featured articles and photography on lesbian sexuality. Billed as the magazine for the "adventurous lesbian," the publication was a direct response to anti-pornography positions in the feminist movement. This article is the full length feature to consider HIV/AIDS among women and largely reproduces the idea that lesbians were at little risk for contracting the virus.
